Fish Down!

The pictures took me a while to get up, so the news is late. Fish down! Fish down! Yes, another fish down the toilet. We lost the second of the three yellow koi. After disposing of the second koi though a miraculous thing happened. The last yellow koi, the littlest one, came out and joined the other fish. I guess he was done helping the other sick fish. It's been a couple days and he looks good. I think we might have a keeper. I'll wait a few more days though before touting his survival, since he is still a very small koi, but I'm hopeful that he'll make it into the pond this spring. As you can see from the pictures, Hunter has taken the loss very hard. He sniffed quite a lot. I thought about getting him a kleenex, but it seemed that he wanted to eat the fish more than cry about his trip to the ocean... It seems like we're getting down to a more maintainable number of koi and goldfish for our small 800 gallon pond. Hopefully, we'll still have some nice variety when spring arrives.
